AKHANDTOHANDCS
The men of Cirque du Soleil’s Mystère defy gravity with extreme feats of strength and balance.
They are performers in the Cirque du Soleil show Mystère, wow audiences night after night with their physical feats of strength and balance.
The brothers are third-generation performers from Portugal who have been in the business for 30 years. “My father was in the circus, my grandfather, and before we knew it, we were born into it,”.
In graceful, controlled movements, one of the artist does a handstand on his brother’s outstretched hands, then maneuvers into a one-handed handstand on one of his brother hands.
They keep their muscles toned by working out and performing 10 shows a week at Treasure Island Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas. “It’s just beautiful to watch,” Oprah says.
Other Artist says:
We all try our best to stay in shape, but after seeing this hand-to-hand performers do their routine in Cirque du Soleil’s Mystère, we realize we’ve got a long way to go. Who better than these brothers to set the record straight on how best to get into — and stay in — shape?
• Start young. They were 7 and 9 when they began their routine, and they’ve dedicated their lives to their craft.
• Work out four days a week for an hour a day.
• Consistency is the key!
