Bio:

Amanda Wakeley OBE has developed her international reputation, since the launch of her signature label in 1990, for designing stylish, luxury womenswear and accessories, and winning awards in the process for her creations and gaining an mass of A-list clientele.

Being a three-time British Fashion Award for Glamour winner, she frequently produces dresses some of the world’s most well-known women, and as such she has seen her lines on the red carpet numerous times. The likes of, Queen Rania of Jordan and the late Diana, Princess of Wales amongst other Royalties have also graced Amanda Wakeley with the honour designing items of their wardrobes.

Everything Amanda knows about fashion, design and creativity was self-taught, and she has been driven to make beautiful clothes all her life. He business savvy came about whilst working for an influential New York designer and retailer, where she continued to work on her own designs and soon gained the confidence to launch her own brand.

Starting with ready-to-wear items, fine jewellery and bridal gowns, as well as other fashion accessories now form an integral part of her collection. In 2009, she opened her own store on Fulham Road and her globally-recognised ranges are stocked by some of the biggest high-fashion retailers, including Harvey Nichols and Harrods.

During the course of her quest for business success, having faced a number of bumps, pitfalls an unpleasant surprises, she now raises funds and awareness for a variety of charities and causes, as well as co-chairing the committee for the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer appeal, which has raised over £10 million to date.
